  • First Time Attendee Orientation (Thursday, September 3; 3:00 – 3:30 p.m.): FREE

    Calling all first time attendees - join us for this orientation designed just for you! Find out everything you need to know to make the most of your Annual Conference experience and meet and network with other first time attendees.
  • Exhibit Hall Grand Opening (Thursday, September 3; 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.): FREE

    Join fellow conference participants to kick-off AAMFT15 with fun, prizes and complimentary refreshments as we officially open the exhibit hall. This year's hall features great publications, excellent resources and must-have products. Meet representatives from MFT programs and universities. And don't forget to stop by the AAMFT Learning Booth for information and tools to help you continue your education after AAMFT15!
  • AAMFT Showcase – A Spotlight on Divisions and COAMFTE Accredited Programs (Thursday, September 3; 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.): FREE

    Meet with division leaders to discuss the latest news and information regarding your home state or province, and find out how you can get more involved. Also, visit with representatives from COAMFTE accredited and candidacy status MFT programs to learn more about educational opportunities they offer.

The posters, selected for their innovation and potential impact on the profession and policy decision makers, highlight the wonderful work being done to demonstrate marriage and family therapy as a viable treatment option on a macro-systemic level. Earn 1 hour of continuing education credit for each session attended.

Generations of SFBT's have contributed to this model's integration into a wide variety of clinical and non-clinical settings.     What would a weekend in Austin be if we didn’t get a little weird? The “live music capitol of the world,” home of the Texas Longhorns, and indie lifestyles mixed with classic Texas culture are just a few elements that lend to our host city’s eccentric vibe. Join us for a laid-back night of fun, food, and karaoke as we celebrate the spirit of Austin! Embody this in your outfit—dress like a cowpoke, the musician you’ve always dreamed of becoming, the ultimate football fan, and everything in between for our annual costume contest! Prizes to be awarded.
       
  • Meet and Greet with Patrick J. Kennedy (Saturday, October 18; 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.): $50

    Join us for a reception with former congressional representative Patrick J. Kennedy to discuss the issues raised in his keynote presentation, take photos, and network with one of the leading behavioral health policy advocates in the country today. Light refreshments will be served. Proceeds benefit the AAMFT Research and Education Foundation.

  • Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) Social Hour (Saturday, September 5; 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.): FREE

    This event will bring together Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) Fellows from across the country along with mentors, advisory committee members, and program directors. The MFP seeks to increase the level of culturally competent doctoral level marriage and family therapists who provide mental health and substance abuse services to undeserved and minority populations. Attendees interested in research, training and practice in these areas are welcome to join us. For more information on this event, please contact mfp@aamft.org.

  • Annual Business Meeting (Saturday, September 5; 10:30 a.m – 12:15 p.m.): FREE; AAMFT membership only

    Because AAMFT is YOUR organization, we invite members to attend the 2015 Annual Business Meeting and dialogue with the Association’s leadership. We’ll discuss the accomplishments of 2014, future changes and their impact on you, financial benchmarks, and Association news. Freely ask questions and express concerns related to business planning as we continue to focus on relevancy, innovation, and communication. Last year’s meeting was dynamic and engaging to members of all levels, as everyone is welcome to freely ask questions and express concerns relating to business planning.
